Pope on Facebook to “woo young believers”

Now this is frightening. The Vatican is now stalking young people on Facebook. Is no place “sacred”? Must these religious predators infiltrate everything we do?
VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – You won’t get an email saying Pope Benedict added you as a friend and you can’t “poke” him or write on his wall, but the Vatican is still keen to use the networking site Facebook to woo young people back to church.

I saw that on the news ticker of a local news show. I thought Facebook had things in place to keep pedophiles from getting their hands on children.

AUM^^ Exactly! Pedophiles and those who harbor pedophiles from prosecution shouldn’t be allowed on the playground!
The moms and dads aren’t taking them personally to the pedophile centers so now the perpetrators are going to go fishing for young folks themselves.
This is similar to what the Baptist Church did in the area where I grew up. They would go find kids where they were playing and offer them things to get them to bug their parents to allow them to ride the green bus to the brainwashing centers. They would offer hot dog lunches and ice cream to all who could convince their parents to allow them to go to church on Sundays and free transportation, etc. Some parents would allow their kids to go just to get them out of their hair for a day, not realizing or not caring what was going to happen to their kids’ minds (or bodies).
Facebook is supposed to be a fun playground for mainly young people. I know some older people like it too…no matter who they shouldn’t have to worry about being proseltyzed to while simply conversing and having fun in their own little clubhouse.

Oh wow that’s creepy! I can just imagine what I’d do if the pope added me as a friend. I’d accept…. Then every day I’d post a new atheist video to his wall. Or an atheist news link. Or link back to this site, even. Every time a link gets deleted, I’d just post it again. It’d be loads of fun (until he finally blocks me!)

How long will it take before the sane people of the world rise up and decide to tell the scumbags in the RCC and any other church that we understand that they are the religious equivalent of NAMBLA?
At this point bringing a small child to the “church” ANY church is the same as introducing them to rapists.

good guys who were bad guys but never got caught…finally,in Ireland, they did…hOpe they check out the “fuck islam and jesus” groups…Atheists(not all) are more tolerant than theist eg:When they call us immoral we don’t march out n smash their window panes but when we form such groups they immediatly form “fuck jesus group should be removed”….
