Whatever it takes? And he is asking Xians to join together like the followers of Hitler, Mao, Lenin? And he is palling around with the president-elect and other high-level political figures?
Great.

I have no doubt God would approve. He’s into that sort of thing.

And this totally self-righteous Xtian fascist fuckhead is the FIRST one Obama invites to put on a display of delusional religious “fucktitude” at his Inauguration.
What total brazen, outrageous insanity.
So…should we be looking forward to some “Seig Heils!” next Tuesday.
I, for one, will be hoping for some kind of “Purpose driven” demonstration against Nazi Warren to break out at the event.
What a totally ignorant and warped, egotistically moronic asshole he reveals himself to be.
And…what a dangerous S.O.B., to boot!
Yeah, I know…I’m using a lot of “ad hominums”…
but let’s face it…at least in my opinion…he DESERVES all the “ad hominums” we can dream up!

“What ever it takes” has resulted in a lot of bloodshed throughout history.
I’m not ready to give up on Obama, but it aint lookin’ good.

With more than a hint of admiration in his voice, pastor Warren described how in 1939 in a packed Munich Stadium before the leader of the Third Reich, young brown-shirted men and women spelled out in formation, with their bodies, words in German which read “Hitler, we are yours.”
“And they nearly took the world, ” pastor Rick told the stadium crowd. He moved on to quote another inspirational example from the 20th Century, Lenin, who said ‘give me 100 committed, totally committed men and I’ll change the world.’ Once again Warren observed, “They nearly did.”
“Nearly” isn’t quite “done”. I take some comfort in this fact. Warren has chosen as models for his youth movement campaigns that didn’t quite accomplish their goals. Xians, like Warren, believe they have a mighty warrior on their side, a glorious general who will finally slaughter their perceived enemies and give them a fanciful kingdom. This is the biggest flaw in their strategic planning. We atheists KNOW they have no such ultra-hero to lead them on. We have the advantage. While they are floundering around following a figment of their imagination we have the distinct advantage of knowing that the only change in the world will be the result of our own efforts. WE make CHANGE. We follow no one. No Hitler. No Lenin. No Jesus. No Gawd!

“And they nearly took the world, ” pastor Rick told the stadium crowd.
I am puzzled as to why all these people swooning over an imagined “better place” in the “afterlife” go through so much to “take the world”. Their goal is to die and go to another dimension to kiss the ass of their god for all eternity in supposed bliss. And no matter what they do, according to their own Babble, there is still going to be this big war and chaos bloodshed, etc. So why work so hard to take over a place they don’t even want to be in??? They don’t even think about the absurd bullshit that is contained in their ancient mythology book.

Hoffy, you may also be interested in reading this article about the lawsuit filed against O’Reilly for sexual harassment http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,714906,00.html
They settled out of court so it’s quite likely there was some truth to the harassment charges. Well, what else is new? Is there any high profile ultra-conservative male that doesn’t have some sexy lingerie draped over the skeleton hanging in his closet?

So why work so hard to take over a place they don’t even want to be in???
Actually, Stardust, in this case Warren wants “the message of Jesus” to be spread over the whole earth so “the end” can come. Apparently their almighty gawd is completely inept at broadcasting a message across the planet which seems mighty curious since I doubt there’s anyone on the planet that hasn’t heard of Obama at this point. Yet the message of Jesus after 2,000 bloody years isn’t sufficiently spread across the world?
Oh, ya, just a minute! There are some tribes of humans in the dense jungles of the Amazon that have had no contact with modern day society (apparently) so it is possible those handful of humans are still ignorant of this Jeebus message. So why doesn’t Warren just hire a few planes to fly over those huts and parachute missionaries down into those clearings and bring them the message? A guy coming from the sky should be impressive enough to give their message some weight too.
No, Warren continues to live under the fantasy that this message of Jeebus is still so unheard of that he requires a mega-movement to get the idea across. The message can’t possibly be throughout the world since (surprise surprise!) Jeebus hasn’t returned yet. Round and round they go. Where they stop nobody knows. Like a dog chasing its tail Warren will eventually get so dizzy he’ll fall over and die like the rest of the gawd-botherers before him.

BTW, a bus driver in Britain refused to drive one of the “no god” buses:

Lynda, I saw that news thing about the bus driver who refused to drive the “no god” buses. But atheists and those of different beliefs are supposed to drive Xian bus signs around, see “you are going to Hell” signs along the highways when we drive by. They want everyone to cater to them, they want their freedom of expression but don’t want others to have it. This dude’s “faith” must be so flimsy if he can’t even tolerate a sign with a differing viewpoint. I think that is the problem with most of these god believers. They know it all seems absurd, and they have extreme doubts and the sign just is a visual of their own thoughts and they can’t stand it because they struggle to cling to the delusion.

Thanks Lynda, that Orielly fella is one sick puppy, the bit about him using the vibrator immediately made me think that Ted Haggard must have been at his place LOL, boys will be boys, there not men thats for bloody sure, and Ron Heather, that’s the miscreant who wanted to get on the news for Cheesarse, what a LOSER who like nearly all the fleas has so little faith, boo hoo I’m all scared that if I drive the bus I won’t go to heaven, boo hoo, guess what buster you ain’t going there anyway, you clown, The Friendly Atheist site has a few good points about that story, oh yeah Star thanks for your input with my Dana mind bend, I got an attack of Grrrrrrrrr, all better now, hope Dana comes back, I sure as imaginary hell don’t want to alienate fellow travellers on the path of sanity………………..

“No, Warren continues to live under the fantasy that this message of Jeebus is still so unheard of that he requires a mega-movement to get the idea across.”
Lynda, that’s because it is impossible for a large number of the fanatically faithful to comprehend the idea that anyone who hasn’t heard the “good news” hasn’t instantly fallen to their knees, prostate in obsequiesness, to the Lawd Jeebus. Why does this site gets so many trolls leaving little scripture-turds, and little else. Why do you and I constantly get religiously themed e-mail forwards from well-meaning, annoying/cloying friends and relatives.
BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THEY AREN’T PROSELETYZING LOUDLY ENOUGH!!! ADD ENOUGH CAPS AND EXCLAMATION POINTS, AND SUDDENLY EVERY KNEE SHALL BUCKLE, AND EVERY TONGUE GET TIED, THAT JEEBUS CRIPES IS LOUD!!! Oh yeah, and also John 3:16
BTW, Great comments Lynda and everyone else.

Fritzy & Lynda?…
I’m sure you’re both aware that the fanatically faithful (retards) have never had the guts to do any serious research regarding the REAL sources of the Buybull, Jeebus, and the so-called Apostles and all the other associated delusional (and fictional) characters.
The sources, of course, are much older mythologies like Osiris, Mithra; and of course Gnostic and even occult based Astrological concepts…the rather ancient “Sun-Mythology”, Precession of the Equinoxes shtick.
If I might…Like Fritzy alluded to, let me do a little shouting back at those totally brainwashed Sheeple Suckers who desperately hang on to ONE of the greatest scams of all time…and as you Gifsters might guess…I really had to force myself to tone down the language of the following little “Naughty-call” ’shouting’ intro!)
[cue boatswain whistle?]
“NOW HEAR THIS!…NOW HEAR THIS!…
ALL YOU UNFORTUNATE LURKING AND TROLLING, BRAINWASHED FUNDIES!”
“JESUS CHRIST NEVER ACTUALLY EXISTED! HE’S A TOTALLY MADE-UP AND LITERALIZED PERSONIFICATION REPRESENTING THE ACTUAL SUN WHICH IS THE CENTER OF OUR SOLAR SYSTEM….
HUMANS HAVE ALL BEEN LIED TO FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS! YOU, LIKE MANY OF US, FELL FOR ONE OF THE GREATEST SUCKER SCAMS OF ALL TIME!
WAKE UP…LIKE WE DID…AND START THINKING RATIONALLY FOR A CHANGE! IT’S NOT TOO LATE!”
FOR STARTERS…(OK; enough shouting)…I suggest this video:

I wonder how much of that stems from some type of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Life isn’t good or enough for them so they are compelled by their god to do more. Warren is actually pretty accurate in using those groups as symbols of what he would like to see. I hope he teaches them to goose step. Heil Jesus.

Obama has stated that he and Rick Warren share a commitment to efforts in Africa to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Either Obama does not understand what type of work Rick Warren is doing in Africa, or he stupidly agrees that draconian right-wing efforts are beneficial.
Here’s a clip from an article (well worth reading the whole piece) at http://www.talk2action.org/story/2009/1/15/183634/970/Front_Page/Rick_Warren_Cites_Hitler_Youth_as_Model_For_Christian_Dedication
“a survey of Warren’s involvement in Africa reveals a web of alliances with draconian right-wing clergymen who have sidelined science-based approaches to combating in favor of abstinence-only education. Most disturbingly, Warren’s allies have rolled back key elements of the continent’s most successful initiative, the so-called ABC program in Uganda. Their activism, according to Stephen Lewis, the United Nations’ special envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, is ‘resulting in great damage and undoubtedly will cause significant numbers of infections which never should have occurred.’ “
This inspired my husband to write another comment to the Obama/Biden transition team:
I have already expressed my extreme disappointment with Obama’s choice of Rick Warren to pray at the inauguration, but I don’t see that your team has made a change in the program. How is it possible that President-elect Obama cannot see how very disturbing this decision is to all those in America who value civil rights, liberty and humanity?
Rick Warren’s radicalism is dangerous. It is the type of radical preaching that leads to human suffering and disrespect for minorities in our society.
Gays and lesbians deserve better from their president. They deserve a president who will defend their civil rights without ambiguity.
Rick Warren’s activism in Africa has not relieved suffering. He promotes backward unscientific approaches to the problem of HIV/AIDS. If his plans continue to receive praise from the Obama/Biden administration it will lead to thousands, if not millions of unnecessary deaths in Africa. Check out what Stephen Lewis, the UN’s special envoy to Africa, had to say on the subject.
President-elect Obama’s lack of comprehension of the serious damage done by Rick Warren’s ministry does not lead Americans to confidently stand behind his other decisions regarding the state of the union.
Give us the CHANGE you promised!

Either Obama does not understand what type of work Rick Warren is doing in Africa, or he stupidly agrees that draconian right-wing efforts are beneficial.
I say it is the latter. What it all boils down to is that Obama is a fundie with some liberal viewpoints. And when it all comes to religion, even moderates think that right-wing efforts to spreading the word of Jeebus is beneficial and the “right thing to do.” When I was a Xian, Presbyterian and Lutheran both, our churches had missionaries that went out worldwide to “spread the gospel” in addition to cleaning up after floods, etc. That was just a side thing, but their ultimate mission was passing out mythology books, and telling them that they need the Xian delusion. Catholic, Protestant, Fundamentalist Evangelicals…they all have the same basic “mission”.
18 January 2009, on 5:11 pm
^Yeah, it’s unfortunate–there is a lot of good work that is tarnished by the obsessive need to spread the fairy-tale.
