Indecision 2008 – McCain’s Sweet Talk Express

26 April 2008 by Stardust

With all the attention focused on Hillary and Obama, we are forgetting that “there’s another candidate in the race . . . one who is a, uh….republican”. . . .”his name is McCain, John McCain” . . .

Ed Note: YouTube took the video down but it can be seen via this link at The Daily Show site…

  1. Captain Al:

Unfortunately this video is no longer available. You’re right though Star, we don’t hear much about John McCain these days. It’s as though everyone assumes the Democratic candidate is going to be the next president. However even if the mass media ignores him we can still enjoy Jay Leno’s nightly jokes about his age!

P.S. This is off topic but what ever happened to Naomi? She hasn’t posted for quite a while. I wanted to thank her for the new career idea she gave me in her posts on March 9th and 12th last year.

  2. Stardust:

Captain Al, I don’t know what happened to Naomi. I have sent her emails, and tried sending her a text message to her phone and no reply. So, I don’t know. I hope she is okay.

As for McCain, he is sitting all comfy now not being in the limelight, but his time will come. It’s just going to be weird if it is Obama against McCain and both having links to whacky bigoted pastors and churches. Not very typical of liberals to be linked to fundie radical nutjob church leaders while it is expected from rethuglicans.

Clearly, we would be a much better informed citizenry if the mainstream media was more like Jon Stuart. I’d like to think that the media will start leaning into McCain more once the primaries are over, but really, they haven’t truly been leaning into the Dems either–not about important issues–not really. Lapel pins?–I mean, c’mon, for fuck’s sake…Why does anyone give a good goddamn? That video-question should have been identified as the banal pabulum it was and discarded into the large “non-starter” pile right off the bat.

Sad that the best and most incisive news show in the United States is…a comedy program followed by a show with puppets making prank calls.

And yes, Stuart makes my short-list of men I am a little gay for.

  4. Captain Al:

    Stardust,
Thanks for the update on Naomi. Yes, let’s hope she gets back to you soon and that everything is okay.
