Thanks for response, Rev, but my fault for not being sufficiently specific.

You quoted address as ‘blah “rant-rant”blah’ but browser shows it as ‘blah”rat-rant”blah’. There is a difference in these terms (’rat’ is not = to ‘rant’). If I ever want to email you, should I use the word ‘rat’ or ‘rant’ in the appropriate place in the address?

Or am I just being a stupid old fool (again)?

None, mate. On the strength of those sites I built 2 separate and quite complex websites that I had to submit for two separate examinations, and I passed both of them no probs. If a geriatric like me can do so – with at that time only 12 months computing knowledge (I’m now a veteran of 36 months, lol), you can too. (Chuck, does that sound like I’m blowing my own trumpet? )

Actually there’s tons of free info out there, and though I’ve discarded most of my links, a Google search will produce them for you.

I must say, I’m not surprised at all by your very generous and timely helpfulness, Old Git, and Stardust.
You guys are great! Thanks, so much for your time and effort.

But I coitenly have my work cut out for me. Of course…there are some questions [if I decide to go forward with the idea], like the appropriate server/costs/payment methods; and in my particular case…music instrument instruction…obvious logistics. My multiple decade, in-studio, experience was in 1/2 hr. lessons; one-on-one. [I have done some checking of other teaching sites, by the way.] Doing it webcam style has its own unique challenges. The telecommunication ADVANTAGES, of course, are similar to some recently discussed stuff:
No travel problems; much more variable schedualing; file (even .mpg, etc. video) sharing; more hygienic? yada, yada.
Speaking of hygienic; I used to have students [on various instruments] coming into lessons with colds, etc…no kleenex or hanky…all because their parents didn’t want to cancel for fear of loosing the lesson money. Needless to say(?)…I learned to be very cautious about the hand to mouth dangers…and to ALWAYS have a box of tissues handy! By the way; for those of you who may have been brought up by mommies who always supplied you with neatly folded, even, IRONED handkerchiefs…am I the only one?…I suggest a more practical substitute: “Viva” brand [in America] paper towels. There, soft, cloth-like, even ‘rewashable’!
