Pat Robertson, Malicious Liar

Robertson Says All Other Religions Worship “Demonic Powers”
A viewer wrote in to ask Pat Robertson a question
Why [do] evangelical Christians tell non-Christians that Jesus (God) is the only way to Heaven? Those who are Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, etc. already know and have a relationship with God. Why is this? It seems disrespectful.
Robertson replied that it is not all disrespectful because all other religions really just worship “demonic powers.”
No. They don’t have a relationship. There is the god of the Bible, who is Jehovah. When you see L-O-R-D in caps, that is the name. It’s not Allah, it’s not Brahma, it’s not Shiva, it’s not Vishnu, it’s not Buddha. It is Jehovah God. They don’t have a relationship with him. He is the God of all Gods. These others are mostly demonic powers. Sure they’re demons. There are many demons in the world
You can see the short clip of Pat Robertson here:

I never did get “IT”. “IT” being the idea that one religion had a full blown franchise on the one true and correct god.
What Pat so succinctly points out is that it is Jehovah god who is “THE” one true god. If that is so then why does he and his flock of suckers pray to and worship Jesus? Isn’t that against the injunction of the first commandment that states “I am The Lord your God.” This Jehovah cat didn’t mention anything about no one else, so he must mean himself only, as in one and only.
Pat continues to lay out his claim that all others are praying to demons or some such nonsense. But what really gets me is that his ministry continues to play the “Jesus is Lord” angle. I guess this is actually of some reassurance in that we can infer from this simple logical fallacy that Pat Robertson and his flock are incapable of anything resembling logic and or reason.
For the Xians reading here; I do not have a belief in demons/god and many of you do not either. When you examine your own understanding of this life. If it contains demons and beings of a supernatural origin you are being nothing more than superstitious. To continue in allowing this nonsense to be promoted is just sheer idiocy and cowardice. Many people refuse to stand against someone like Patty boy. They think he has power or that he has a hotline to god. He does not he is human just like the rest of us. One day he too will die and become worm food. Nothing more. To act as if this god/demon thing is true is really a disservice to humanity. To live without questioning this is to live a life devoid of understanding. A life as a follower that never once objected to even the most absurd of claims.
Many of us here in the world of reason are waiting for you to join us. We are here because we asked.Because we could no longer tolerate the lies of absurdities being forced on us on a regular basis. People do not come back from the dead. People do not float up into the sky and live forever. It is all made up. I consider the absurd Ganesh as the same as Jehovah, made up.

yes, Pat Robertson is a hateful moron. And yes, the bible preaches exclusion, and also claims to have a monopoly on the “truth”. but if you’re going to follow the bible, or practice it’s mythology, shouldn’t you practice it all the way? if the bible is the infallable word of god, should you hand pick which of it’s verses to believe and take at face value and which to interpret and which to explain away by saying things like “the bible was written a long time ago and at that time the world was a different place”. While i’m a free thinking humanist, i do think that the wackos who follow the bible to the letter are the ones who truly understand their sect, whatever it may be (by either believing all other “gods” are demons, or by blowing yourself up in a crowded market).

Some religions have at the basis of their origins the concept of theistic monopolies. They do not suffer religious pluralism, which is why 2 of these religions in particular, (islam and christianity) are always warring with each other and with most of the other religions on the planet.
I think of their motto as being similar to the cry in the movie “Highlander”.
“There can be ONLY one!”
They are basically theistic monopolies with a reverance for theocratic dictatorships.

Though it makes me throw up in my mouth a little to even suggest we nurture this mass delusion, it would probably behoove all of us if we could only get the monotheistic triumvirate on the same page. You know, this gawd of yours is like David Bowie. Sometimes, he’s the Thin White Duke, sometimes Ziggy Stardust, but he’s also Major Tom- and they’re all David Bowie, which isn’t to say that Bowie is gawd(though at least he’s real). Similarly- okay not so similarly but such is my fate to deal with an already made clunker of an analogy, your Yahweh, your Jehovah, your Allah, your Wahoo, your whatever the fuck you want to call it, is the same dude with, perhaps, a pyramid-shaped, three-faced head(Janus says “That’s oneupsmanship!”). So, he sent a representative to different folks, at different times in that Cauldron of Crazy now known as the Middle East- Moses to the Jews, Jeebus to the Jews who didn’t really want to be Jews anymore, and Mohammed to the Arabs and the Persians kinda like metaphysical Typhoid Virgin Marys. And each strain, along the way, branched off into different directions because presumably the directions wasn’t clear no matter that they were written in plain whatever the fuck language they happened to speak and either were or were not true but not both and, though they were putatively the word of gawd, his representatives on earth figured they knew better and edited and redacted and clutched some to their bosom while burying the rest in caves by the Dead Sea like maybe we might forget that they ever were and, just in case, we’re gonna burn that pesky library at Alexandria- and anything else that strikes our fancy or in anyway contradicts what we know to be true because we just now wrote it down and you, the masses, can’t say a damned thing about it because, first and foremost, you can’t tell a canonical text from a papyrus walked upon by a chicken or a guinea fowl or a pea hen, seeing as you can’t read and you’ll just have to take our word for it that it says right there that you should do as we say and shut up about what we do, as if you have enough time to worry about the discrepancy while your hacking a bare subsistence from the rocky ground and picking nits from one another’s beards and- oh, fuck me wherever did that King of All the Britons fellow go?(Help! Help! I’m being oppressed!) Motherfuckers don’t have the right to know the answers unless you’re willing to work for them . If it were at all comfortable, I’d wipe my ass with a page from a different religious text every morning after coffee.

I am not sure that I can agree with Jimmer’s title: Pat Robertson, Malicious Liar, since it would require an in-depth analysis of the man before one was able to diagnose whether he was simply a delusional psychopath or a manipulative sociopath who employs egregious mendacity and duplicity to bolster his own self-esteem, power and wealth. What is clear, however, is that the man (and, incidentally, his questioner) are basically incredibly stupid, since they are not even aware of elementary facts, such as:-
1. Buddhism does not have a relationship with god or demonic powers, and neither does it entail worship anyone or anything!
2. Allah, Jaweh, Jehova, Elohim, God, and all the other names that the followers of the Abrahamic religions have are all synonyms for the same fucking thing – a ignorant, superstious, non-substantiatable invention of primitive minds!
3. There is absolutely no credible evidence whatsoever that this god (or any other supernatural invention for that matter) to whom Robertson and others of similar psychopathology allegedly believe in actually exists, or ever did.
4. The claims made by all religious believers regarding their faith are entirely irrational, and only liars and madmen refuse to admit that!

We are all humbled before your divinely inspired rambling sentence construction.
I think that qualifies as longest sentence ever posted on this website.
On topic -
Pat Robertson is a delusional, hateful racist who we are forced to listen to because he motivates other delusional, hateful racists to vote as one.
Just Google “Pat Robertson” and “anti-semitic” and reap the whirlwind of 150,000+ listings.
USA! USA!

Remember Pat doesn’t even like other versions of Protestantism never mind the Catholics
19 November 2006, on 10:17 am
Old Git; you are wrong on the Buddhism part. There are many gods in Buddhism. The fifth Dalai Lama even tried to summon the wargod Begtse to have his political views made into laws and whatnot.

Moe, I remain unhindered by punctuation! Somebody or other told me long ago that a sentence contained a complete thought but, when I’m in that mindset where I ought not be operating heavy machinery, “complete” often includes tangents, digression, and self-reference. Okay, that, or it’s a pathetic homage to Hubert Selby, Jr.
19 November 2006, on 12:24 pm
Jim Dean you are truly blessed.

I struggled with the title because of that very reason. But only for about 1/2 of one second. Robertsons’s background is rife with lies and delusions so I weighed in on the side that cuts him no quarter. Afterall, he’d give us the same consideration. The only difference is that he would have us stoned or sent to hell for eternity. All we’re doing is giving him a hard time.
RDZ
A tip of the hat to that one sentence complete idea.

Gautama Buddha is the founder of the Mayhayana school of Buddhism, and it recognises no gods whatsoever. Tibetan Buddism is an esoteric version of Buddhism which is as true to the teachings of Buddha as esoteric Daoism is to the philosophy of Lao Tzu and Chung Tzu.
The only thing I was wrong about was not being sufficiently specific in making it clear that I was speaking exclusively of the teachings of Gautama and the Ch’an/Zen Patriarchs.

Jimmer,
I was not criticising your title, or you for that matter. I just wanted to make it clear that Robertson is both highly ignorant and psychopathologically defective in a fundamentally important way.
19 November 2006, on 1:37 pm
Pat Robertson manages to seduce 1 million viewers to watch his program every day per CNN. There are a lot of people walking around America thinking exactly the same sort of malicious shit he does. The Bible doesn’t contradict this kind of thinking either. Nor does the Qu’ran. Nor does the Torah.
We’re doomed!
19 November 2006, on 8:25 pm
Ol Git
Thanks. I didn’t think you were being critical. But it occurred to me that I could clarify my position a bit better. Pat is also the guy that advocated the U.S. go in an assassinate Presidente Hugo Chavez. Just like all good xians would.(sarcasm)
19 November 2006, on 8:41 pm
Pat “I suck balls” Robertson is a mental defective, who is somehow capable of manipulating people to listen to him. He really should be put out of our misery.
19 November 2006, on 9:16 pm
I find it odd that Robertson and his xian cohorts worship a zombie. I mean, Jeebus supposedly rose from the dead and walked around. Don’t they believe this actually happened? Jeebus creepers! A cult of zombie worshippers!
19 November 2006, on 11:06 pm
And selfish, to boot!
Selfish is as selfish does. Each sect or cult “owns” their faith, and denounces all the others. The in-fighting needs to be highlighted more.
Like the computer, HAL, 2001: A Space Odyssey (sp?), rendered brain-dead by conflicting human logic, and if we could keep the spotlight on their contentious natures and struggles for supremacy, maybe they’d do a “Wicked Witch of the West: “I’m melting! I’m melting! I’m melting…”
Oh, great, I see a pattern today–everything has been in movie-metaphors! I’m going back to bed…

What I find really disturbing, though, is that there are so many credulous morons willing to believe the crap that they espouse; now that’s what I call a frightening statistic!

MoeNeigh said “Jeebus creepers!” LOLOL! I needed a laugh.
You know who is just as bad as Pat Robertson… Jack Van Impe. I’d say the both of them are equally malicious, and retarded.

Late-2005, early-2006, Pat Robertson declared to us that God told him 2006 would be a great year for George W. Bush and the Republican Party. Ignoring for the moment the level of arrogance and self-centeredness in a personal God that cares more about American politics and less about world hunger, I think we can safely conclude that Robertson was way off the mark. Perhaps: (1) Pat Robertson is a delusional person speaking to and listening to the void (no god); (2) God exists but Pat Robertson worships the wrong God; or (3) Pat Robertson’s God is not all-knowing.
20 November 2006, on 2:16 pm
Pat “I suck balls” Robertson is a mental defective, who is somehow capable of manipulating people to listen to him. He really should be put out of our misery.
Immediately. If not sooner.
It would be nice if GAW-DUH actually said to dear old Pat, “Would you just shut the fuck up?” Or at least strike his lying ass down.
But since GAW-DUH doesn’t exsist, it ain’t happening.
20 November 2006, on 4:20 pm
If we accept Robertson’s assertion that other faiths worship deceitful demonic powers, what proof can he offer that his god is not also a deceitful, demonic power keeping Robertson and his flock from apprehending the one, true god?
I mean, presumably the “fake” god (demon) conning all the Muslims is doing the occasional charitable act to keep the flock satisfied enough not to go looking for a better god. What’s a few healing miracles to keep all those Muslims on the fast-track to hell?

Under no circumstances threaten the life of Pat Robertson when he is running for president.
I found that out the hard way.

Why doesn’t Pat Robertson die? Because his followers sent him millions of dollars so gawd wouldn’t call him home…Wait… That was Oral Roberts…no,no… that was the Haggart guy who spent a million bucks on meth and butt-fucks and blowjobs…no,no..that was Jimmy Swaggart and some sleazy skank hole…Ah shit! They all suck money from people who are looking for absolute answers…Wait! There are no answers! Just more questions! Oh my lawd! What will I ever do ????
