Enron’s Lay, Skilling convicted

HOUSTON (Reuters) – Former Enron Corp. chiefs Ken Lay and Jeffrey Skilling were convicted on Thursday for lying to investors as the energy giant stumbled toward bankruptcy in 2001 in a stunning collapse that shook the country’s faith in corporate America…
After the verdict Lay stood with his family members gathered around him and weeping loudly. Lay had no tears and tried to console them, saying, “God’s got another plan right now.”
Lay, 64, the son of a preacher [Ed. note: Naw! A preacher's son a greedy, selfish bastard??], then clasped hands with them as they stood in a circle to pray. “We’ll all come through this stronger and more reliant on God,” he told them.
Lay was convicted of all six counts of conspiracy and fraud and faces a maximum of 45 years in prison.
Yeah, Kenny. God’s “other plan” is that you get boned up the ass by a guy named Bubba every Tuesday during movie night. Stay tuned.

He says GOD has another plan?? I would hope that any honest theist would agree that this is not about God’s OTHER plans for Kenny Boy, but rather, the consequences he gets for being a thief and a fraud.
The xians just love to tell us how there are consequences for sinning, which god hates. Well, this is one of those consequences, and if god existed, I have to assume he’d hate the sort of stuff Kenny Boy was up to.
Jeebus! Send me an honest xian anyday, but leave these hucksters at home.

It won’t be long before Ol’ George W. simply has to go to jail. All of his friends will be there- Kenny Boy, Turdblossom, Scooter, Duke, Hammer, Deadeye Dick. Hell, all the good ol’ boys at the Graybar Hotel. Unfortunately, Sean, they’ll all be at federal joints like Martha Stewart and have to have consensual sex with one another. I know, I know, W. would make such a cute punk.

I firmly believe that every single one of these so called people belongs behind bars, and not for a short time either. I was suprised that Lay was convicted on all charges as I expected him to wiggle out of a few. I would like to see him get at least 20 years for some of the lives he helped ruin while making his own richer. There is but one word to describe Mr. Lay, BASTARD. I hope the bastard pays for the rest of his mortal life.

I’d imagine a guy like Ken Lay will never see the inside of a pound me in the ass kinda prison, he’ll go to a minimum security joint, tennis courts and whatnot.

Hey now, as a pastor’s kid who never bought any of the tribal religous tripe that was forced down my throat, I can understand the spirit of your jest, but I think it’s misdirected. In my experience, clergy-brats are actually much more likely to become skeptical of the whole retarded religion chicken dance because we are able to get an insider’s view of our parents and their peers being just as full of shit as everyone else. It was very strange seeing people treat my dad as some kind of holy prophet (+3 Sword of Lightning!) when in actuality, he was as much of a lying, cheating asshole as you would ever meet.

Don’t forget, “All things are possible for those who love the Lord,” was in there somewhere. My friends tell me my unalloyed joy is a cheat, since Kenny/Jeffy Boy will probably appeal until they die of natural causes, being free all that time.
Saw some former Enron employees on TV last night. They were so happy, even though they will never see their jobs/savings/pensions again. It was great to see them so overjoyed. None of this forgiveness crap, not at all.

Any other person convicted of a crime goes to prison where they can appeal. The person who turned Government witness was just as bad as these two but he will get a much reduced sentence. If gawd has another plan for him, was gawds first plan to rip off millions of people of all of their money?
The question is ” Will W pardon his friends of the family because we know W’s brother was a big part of the Savings and Loan scandal and never served any time?” Their crime is not a big deal for the rich, only the little guy gets persecuted for such audacity.

I’ve read the story and I can’t believe how fucking stupid and greedy some people in Texas are. I used to think highly of the State of Texas but no more. This Davis story has to be the most appalling thing I have ever heard. People of Texas y’all should be ashamed.
