Warning: Disturbing Images

Xianity-CultHad this site sitting around in my mail for a while, but just got around to posting it:

Colorado Springs is a peaceful and conservative town of 300 000 inhabitants, located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. It is also a sort of “Vatican for the Evangelicals” : over a hundred Christian evangelical and/or evangelistic associations have set up their main office in Colorado Springs, thanks to attractive tax policy. In 1984, pastor Ted Haggard settled in the city, at the time renowned for its hippies, bikers and others of the kind…He experienced visions, praying and fasting – became a pioneer, aroused by an unshakeable faith in his mission: bring back the Gospel into this city, chasing away evil cults (such as hippies!).

Pastor Ted’s New Life Church of Colorado Springs is one of the most important evangelical congregations of the city (a mega church of approximatly 11.000 members). A congregation becoming very influential in the USA because of its modern ways, adapted to nowadays religious needs and behaviours. New Life Church is turned towards young people – the essential leaven of changeover (all evangelical congregations own their “Youth Ministry”) – aware of the importance of preparing future generations on a biblical basis. Moreover, Ted Haggard is head of the NAE (National Association of Evangelicals), the powerful Christian lobby of the “Born Again Christians”.

If you think xianity isn’t a cult, you might want to see these images. If this doesn’t qualify, then I’m not sure what would.

And when I think of these people as the future of American politics, I can’t help but think of one particular movie from a while back. Yep, Donald Sutherland’s final sound at the end of that movie just comes right out at ya.day pay 1000 loans cash advances107 loan home purchase12 17 loan payday internet moneyloans equity 120 homemortgage loan 125 valueloan chapter student 13mortgage 155 credit bad loanmanufactured buyer loan 1st time homehome horizon 1st loandebt mortgage 1st consolidation loan

Ted Haggard is a sick puppy. He’s the one who goes all ballistic in Dawkins’ “Root of All Evil”…

. Gee, another Xian countering intellectual debate with righteousness and anger.

Dawkins, admittedly, gets his feathers ruffled a bit. He probably was flashing back on someone who looked just like Haggard who used to beat him up on the playground as a kid.

  2. Sean:

Shit. Messed up the link. Here it is on onegoodmove:

  3. King Retard:

the creepiest part to me is how intentionally sexual the pictures of the women were in most of those photos. There’s no better way to win converts than making guys horny for your good-looking daughters, is there?

  4. Alex Bladon:

I think picture 20/25 has to be the most disturbing. If you could define indoctrination with one image…

  5. Bruce:

That picture of the little girl with her hand raised up (trying to reach Jesus no doubt) is disturbing. Dawkins is right, nothing but child abuse if you ask me.

  6. Lorraine:

Well *that* was quite bizarre. Creepy doesn’t really describe that place well enough. Ugh! Geeze louise!

  7. Martin:

That creepy slide of lyrics reminds me of the words to a song by Legendary Pink Dots called “Friend”:

I have a friend that only I can see
He stays discrete, that doesn’t mean he’s hiding
Indeed he’s here right now and I believe
He likes you very much because he’s smiling

But my friend will never advertise
    He stays inside and whispers
Secrets that should stay that way

Sometimes he will take me to a place
Where everyone accepts me and I’m happy
I rip this metal mask off from my face
I hold my head up high and no one slaps me

But they always come and take me down
My friend steps back, won’t make a sound
    I crawl back and hide

  8. Emily:

    At least that friend doesn’t advertise… :)

  9. T'Day:

    There’s a difference between a religion and a cult:
    cults don’t have bingo.

    muHAAAAAAAAHaha

  10. God is for Suckers! » Blog Archive » It’s the end of the world as we know it… And I don’t feel fine:

[...] Christian leaders such as Ted Haggard, president of the National Association of Evangelicals, say the commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission has naturally intensified along with the technological advances God provided to carry out his plans. [...]

  11. DELMAR KNOWLES:

You cannot be a sucker til you get down on your knees!

God is an idea, as in Plato’s idea, or “Forms”. “Reason” which is knowledge, requires postulates to be accepted without question, while “intelligence”, which is the knowledge of the highest and most abstract category of things, leads to the understanding of the ultimate good.

Insofar as men are concerned, the quest for ascension and the answers to the purpose and meaning in life is good. It is in man’s answers to these musings that requires our attention. We must first deal with the Pathology of Pathocracy, the Pathology of Psychopathy in arriving at understanding the intent of those who predate upon human beings, not in liberating spirituality so that we become creative and productive, but in allowing ourselves to be servants of death, disease and destruction. To have our souls predated upon by those without souls. By having our energy harvested by those who have contempt for those with souls.

Ok boys and girls, Its time all of you tased your tainted jello puddings. That way your tip to your spaceship won’t hurt…
Christians are here to stay. nuff said!

  13. Drew:

AND NOW IT TURNS OUT TED HAGGARD IS GAY!!!

The only way this could be better is if James Dobson and he do each other regularly!!!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

  14. befa:

“The only way this could be better…” How is this a good thing? It sounds like you are gay also.

  15. jimmer:

    Drew
Exactly! The very thing they have denounced has come back to bite them in the ass. Literally. One of these days we’ll see a video of all of them in one great big daisy chain of love. Singing “Jesus loves me”. And buddy Christ will be there bringing up the rear.

  16. Chris:

I feel a lot of pity for all the evangelicals who keep getting scammed by these crackpot leaders. When will people realize that this is all a way to part them from their hard earned money?

  17. Kate:

Yes, preacher ted is one sick puppy. Extremists of any sort are by definition ABBY NORMAL. But, this guy is off the wall.
I think he looks and acts like one of those anti-social criminals which by definition have no conscience and don’t care how they hurt people to get what they want in life.
Preacher Ted got Power, Influence, Money and a double life.
His Wife, his kids, his gay lover, and his followers. I don’t think he cared for anyone but himself.
You are so right Chris. So many of these Evangelical Leaders are scam artists. Indeed, anyone who could lead a double life in the public eye like Ted Art Harrard did, did not know how to feel quilty or worry about who he was hurting.
The fact that he preached against drugs and defied the rights of homosexuals to marry, while being on drugs and pursuing his gay life while being married, is just mind boggling. Still, his conscience did not slow him down as he worked his way to becoming “head of the NAE (National Association of Evangelicals.)”
Nothing has pushed me over the edge towards non-beleif as the Fundamentalist Movement in the USA and what it is has brought down upon America.
