South Korea surges ahead on stem-cell research
19 October 2005 by Sean
This is what happens when your country is being mired down by theocrats. Other countries leave you in the dust in terms of scientific and economic development. We are on our way to being a country of piss-poor, superstitious waterheads wandering in barren corn fields. America, the great innovator, is already falling. And you can blame it squarely on the Xians. Fuck ‘em one and all for fucking up a perfectly good capitalist democracy.
Snippet:
Helped by generous government support and an absence of some of the red-tape and ethical debate that has hampered research in countries such as the United States, South Korea is fast becoming a key center for stem-cell research.
Sad day for my friends at Genentech. They’d love to be at the forefront of work like this, if only the giant country of brain-dead moralists that they live in would let them.

I find it interesting that, you blame this on Christians.
Have you seen “The Corporation” on DVD? We are in deep poopy, it’s not the little Christians that you need to worry about, It’s BIG, powerful, greed driven, money hungry, moral-less godless Corporation.
“brain-dead moralists”
19 October 2005, on 2:21 pm
sable chicken, what other group is lobbying to prevent stem cell research? That was the one topic that almost had me vote for Kerry…
19 October 2005, on 2:23 pm
“deep poopy” …I love to hear you pussy fuckin christains curse …wats smatter …gawd got you tongue? What happens when the lost pages of the bibble are found and say “….lord are thou not est to say the word poopy either ist…” then what …will you wash your mouth out with holy water or pope sperm?
19 October 2005, on 2:34 pm
What a load of horseshit, Sable. I have seen the Corporation, and yes, big greedy companies are fucking up this country and this world, but what they are fucking up is the environment and any semblance of social responsibility to the disenfranchised.
You must have seen a different movie if you think that what they are fucking up is America’s ability to be on the leading edge of technology. However, the Xians are absolutely causing a brain drain in this country by forcing us to teach kids that evolution is a questionable theory, and by keeping us from being on the leading edge of new technologies like cloning and stem-cell work.
Our (Xian) government’s draconian response to Sept. 11 is also creating an immigration situation that is keeping smart minds from coming to the United States to work with our scientific institutions.
I am not gonna bother to link to the myriad articles on all of these issues. Look it up yourself.
And yes, I put the blame squarely on your “little Christians.” What’s little about them, by the way? The fact that they control every branch of our government and make up the vast majority of the meatheads that live in this fucked country? Have you ever been to Europe and talked to people about how they view the U.S. these days? They used to be amazed by us; the country that saved them from the Nazi nightmare, the country that put men on the moon, the country that invented Tupperware.
Now they see us as a giant, powerful, mentally handicapped pre-teenager with ADD and anger management issues.
The world is laughing at us. Hint: we atheist Americans are not the reason why.

We should plea to the UN for assistance in overthrowing our theocratic oppressors.
19 October 2005, on 3:03 pm
Sean, Couldn’t have said it better!
19 October 2005, on 3:19 pm
Sean- exactly.
19 October 2005, on 3:21 pm
Marcus:
We should plea to the UN for assistance in overthrowing our theocratic oppressors.
Ha! Send in the Marines.
19 October 2005, on 6:04 pm
“America’s ability to be on the leading edge of technology.”
Come on, our food and animals are all owned by big Corporations! We are the lab rats, for a the almighty buck. This has nothing to do with Christians. Is your hatred so strong for a group of people that you have become blind.
Chris, your little potty mouth makes me think that you have been on drugs since 10 years of age.
19 October 2005, on 7:09 pm
Chicken,
Conspiracy theory is akin to idiocy. Corporations do not “own” everything. Corporations have as much freedom as the people allow. Why do you think they pay big dollar to PAC’s and lobbyists? If you want corporations to change, vote wisely.
As far as “potty mouth” comments go, read up on profanity linguistics in the category of amelioration and pejoration: i.e. cunt was innocuous at one time (cunt has a funnier etymology then most obscenities). Words are descriptors; connotation is the real weighty part of a word- say “milk” for five minutes straight and you’ll be surprised how funny it begins to sound. To get rid of offensive words, speak them into nothingness.
19 October 2005, on 7:23 pm
Sable: you are not addressing my points. You keep changing the subject.
What does our food and animals being produced by big corporations have to do with the point I am making about creationism and the belief that embryos have souls keeping us from being on the leadung edge of new technologies like cloning and stem cell research.
Absolutely nothing, as far as I can tell.
Do you deny that teaching kids that evolution isn’t real produces a generation of idiots who will never be able to be biologists or chemists or geneticists?
Also, those giant corporations are international sovereign entities in the modern world. They do their business wherever they please. So if they need a good geneticist to figure out how to make a better cow, and there aren’t any good ones left here, they will just hire someone from South Korea.
Poof, there goes a potential job that could have gone to, say, your brother. Guess what? When we don’t have jobs, we can’t buy the food that you say is owned by the giant corporations. So not only will they go elsewhere with their jobs, they will go elsewhere with their product.
And when insects evolve to the point where they can eat the genetically modified food that was designed to be resistant to them, and we don’t have any scientists left who can make a newly modified crop…
Well, like as I said in my original post: a nation of religious waterheads wandering around barren corn fields.
19 October 2005, on 8:37 pm
“Conspiracy theory is akin to idiocy. Corporations do not “own” everything. Corporations have as much freedom as the people allow.”
I live in the first county in the USA to ban Genetically Modified Organisms, so I do know what I am talking about when I use the word “own”. Don’t put your faith in science. Science is owned by big corporations. They own and are putting a patenting as much plant life as possible and are distorying plant diversity.
Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
Now man says I am more powerful that God and I will do better than good.
God gave us every thing that we would every need (and He loves us and knows our needs)
God gives us one seed and from that we have many. We are told to take good care and be fruitful.
Man sells us one seed designed to never reproduce a future crop…or the pesticide is built into the fruit. farmer has got to buy more seeds from heartless big corporation that is getting rich with immoral ways. If you are found to be growing this patended crop with out buying new seed every year…well you will be sued, and then they own your farm. If you are an organic farmer you will also be sued if GMO pollen is blown by the wind on to your feild. This is NOT good.
The Bible is Truth, and it is given to us from a God that loves us.
Science is withholding the truth, that is like telling a lie. Science has a bottom line…it’s money, We all know that the love Money is the root of all evil. (oh let me beat you to the punch line, you don’t believe in evil unless you are talking about a Christian…right?)
So it looks like we are all be in the same boat, believers and disbelievers wandering around in barren corn fields
As far as changing the subject, well it is really hard to take any of these subjects seriously on TheSuckerSite. This is only about Christian Bashing, You are useing your dirty words to the point that every thing that is said becomes meaningless.
19 October 2005, on 9:50 pm
Here’s the deal.
WE. US.
The Human Beings that are trampling this Earth beneath our feet.
WE are the one’s that are destroying it. WE are destroying EACHOTHER!
It isn’t the president, it isn’t GAWWWWWWWWWWWWWD, it isn’t fucking Santa Claus, it isn’t the little gang of ass cronies; it is US.
So what are we going to do about it? Huh? What are we going to do about it?
Are we going to sit here, debating on some fucking web-site, and in hopes that it changes the world?
NO!
We’re not. And fuck it if I’m going to sit here and watch this shit. I can’t. This is not right.
You guy’s hit a nerve. Quit blaming, accusing, assuming, oppressing, ridiculing, chasitising, and misunderstanding Christians.
WTF. Not once have I heard you guy’s poke any ridicule (since I have been visiting this site) towards any other denomination. Why aren’t you generalizing the whole human race for crying out loud?
I do not claim any so called religion.
I claim love.
That’s it.
And I’m sorry you guy’s. But from this moment on, all I can be is a lurker here at this site.
And I know that that deems no matter to you.
This site is a terrible representation as to who we are in daily interaction.
And I do not want to have any part of it.
I mean seriously, most of you don’t even care to hear what we have to say. Right? So then I ask, what’s the point? What’s the point of me sharing my thoughts if you aren’t even going to ponder it?
Know what I mean?
So I will let you all debate amongst yourselves.
If you want to chat with me, contact me via email. I will do the same for you guy’s.
I love you all in the most twisted way possible.
Dena
Please do not pose any reply via this comments board, because I will no longer be visiting. Should you desire further interaction, you know how to get ahold of me.
19 October 2005, on 9:51 pm
P.S. I spelled chastising wrong. (DAMMIT.)
19 October 2005, on 10:09 pm
Don’t put faith in science it’s owned by corporations… Wow, just, wow, I’m at a loss for words, buddy, I don’t really think anything anybody can say to you on this site will do anything for you, I’m not saying you’re an idiot, but you’re definatly mislead and ignorant. I blame it on whatever environment you live in, you don’t just get that ignorant of reality without a total fucking nutcase helping you along some. Apparently, you think science is some “thing”. I imagine that when you think of science images of fancy shiny electronic gizmos pop into your head. No, that’s not what science is. Science isn’t balding guys in thick glasses and lab coats working in some corporate lab. It’s not some “product”. Science, has a method, anybody can follow these methods and find things out for themselves, understand me so far? You with me here? Science is not some “thing” that can be owned by a corporation. Understand? It’s a method for figuring out the universe, as a matter of fact, the human brain can be said to be using a sort of scientific method to make sense of the world. The corporation doesn’t own your thought proccesses do they? No, they don’t. Not to get too caught up in ad-hominems here, but did you go to high school? Or even get past elementary school? I hope for our sake that you didn’t, because if you did, the US of A is doomed to live in mud-huts within the next two to three generations.
Please be a little more conscious of the contents of this site sable, we don’t think god isn’t real because we’re just some poor fools mislead by satan that one day decided that it would be cool to not have any rules to abide by and just gave up religion. A lot of us have at least a working knowledge of what science is, so coming on here and telling us what you know about science is a little bit like going to a rock site and giving telling everybody what you heard about hard rock from a comment your grandmother with alzheimers made on the subject.
Sorry if I sound rude and if my comment is a little jumbled, I’m trying to contain my anger and keep from just posting a big ass flame.
19 October 2005, on 10:15 pm
Wow… I just saw Dena’s comment up there and she (well, stating the obvious here) seems pissed, like she was probably holding that in for a while. Dena, just for the record, my above comment was not directed at you or christianity, just one little part of sable’s comment. Please don’t go Ford hunting.
19 October 2005, on 10:18 pm
Okay. Now Sable is saying science itself is evil. Sorry, Dena, but we can’t stop what we are doing when people are making such ignorant claims.
Science is not evil any more than knowledge is evil. Eve was punished, and all of humanity was punished, for wanting to know shit…. Now that is evil.
People can apply scientific knowledge in evil ways, but that is people, not science itself.
It always cracks me up when religious types bash science but then are perfectly happy to benefit from its riches. They get their polio vaccines, they have their caesarean births, they drive their cars, they take their fertility drugs (and then have quintuplets and call it a miracle), they take their aspirin, they have their triple bypass surgery, they drink their alcohol, they even secretly have a vibrator hidden in their bedroom drawer. Next time your vibrator is giving you a mind-blowing orgasm, thank science.
I say to these people: live the same life you have led so far, yet remove every benefit of science. Odds are probably pretty high you’d be dead by now.
Sable, if science is bad, if you get hit by a bus, we won’t bother to call the paramedics. We’ll just pray for you, mmm-kay?
Dena, Christianity is not a denomination. Catholicism is. And here is a post where I did attack Islamic sectarianism. I in fact have made several posts against radical Islam and you will see us discuss it often in the comments (the insanity of the Sept. 11 zealot murderers, for instance).
We are also against Jewish, Hindu, even Buddhist zealots. These people exist, and you can find them in places like India and Gaza. Thing is, there aren’t many of them here in the U.S. Atheists and sensible people in those places are fighting against their own developing theocracies. We post more about Christians because currently it is Christians who are trying to establish a Christian theocracy in this country. If you don’t believe this is happening, then somehow you are missing things like this.
We’re fighting what we believe to be a hateful, bigoted, exclusionary belief system, not individuals but the whole system of illogic and hate behind it.
[Okay, we are fighting individuals, too, like the President -- who is actually fucking up the planet -- drilling in ANWAR, anyone? Withdrawl from the Kyoto Protocols?]
You’re gay? You’re going to hell (um, then why did god make me gay?). You haven’t accepted Jebus into your heart? You’re going to hell. You had sex without being married? You’re going to hell.
This is not a loving belief system. A god who tells me to love him or face eternity burning in hell (”The heat! My god! The heat!”) is not a loving god. If I absolutely had to pray to something, I would rather pray to the Teletubbies… They would never say that to me.
19 October 2005, on 11:21 pm
Sean is on fire tonight!
“Next time your vibrator is giving you a mind-blowing orgasm, thank science.”
I say we slap that on a bumper sticker.
20 October 2005, on 12:09 am
You mean like this?
20 October 2005, on 12:24 am
PS: Dena… Maybe you will never see this, but remember we accepted you here with plenty of compassion and understanding. Your screamfest above — which I am sure you will admit later is exactly what it was — seems more directed at humanity in general and not at us.
We are compassionate people who care deeply about humanity’s future. That’s why we write what we do. That’s the whole point. I think you know this. I think what happened was that you got so angry at the hypocrisy of what we are seeing out there in the world that you kind of snapped at it all and directed it at us, because we keep harping on this whole darn religion thing, which you have yet to fully accept as a bad direction for humanity.
Well, it is, hon… And if we are gonna survive as a species and move into the next phase of our, yes, evolution superstition and all of its evils need to be left on the curb. Let’s all walk forward into the future in love, respect, tolerance… and all those good things that organized religion actually actively destroys.
We wish you well. Take care.
20 October 2005, on 8:29 am
Bah gawd, I missed a lot.
Ok sable chicken and Dena. Do me a favor. First, re-read the article originally posted. It was based on the fact that stem cell research has been stymied by Xians. That’s it. If you can name another group which has lobbied against stem cell research, WITH EVIDENCE, we can dislike that group as well. Until then, it’s all Fundie Xians that think since a blob of cells could turn into a human, science must suffer.
To answer why (in my opinion) atheists don’t like Xians in general:
You all believe (or you’re not really Xian) that we are going to burn for eternity in the most evil place you can imagine, no matter how wonderfully moral or good we are. To those that believe that, I say FUCK YOU! (end of rant)
20 October 2005, on 8:51 am
Dena and Chicken- if science if so evil then why don’t you stop using it right now… stop using everything that science has given to you this very second… do it, do it now!
PS- while your praying for me I will be sitting here thinking how much of an asshole you are!
20 October 2005, on 9:22 am
On the subject of the article, I’d just like to say something personal;
As a type 1 diabetic, christians have directly shortened my life. If the baseless fear of stemcell research had not stopped some of the best scientists in the world, and the US has some great scientists, “we” as a species would be that much closer to curing problems like mine.
Next time any of you christians are out there protesting stem cell research you are directly effecting my life and the lives of many people, including christians, jews, muslims, atheists, whoever. If you want to stop stem cell research you are admitting you want to shorten my life. And I’ve done nothing to deserve that. Your “love” is as rigged with hypocrisy, and frankly you can keep it.
20 October 2005, on 9:35 am
Jebus, Dena,
When you finish the next three stages, come back- we’ll be waiting for you.
The Cluckin’ Chicken,
“As far as changing the subject, well it is really hard to take any of these subjects seriously on TheSuckerSite. This is only about Christian Bashing, You are useing your dirty words to the point that every thing that is said becomes meaningless.”
*Yawn* If you can’t handle a word like “cunt” or “fuck” then you sure as hell aren’t prepared for the real world. Get back into your coop.
Good morning, Ryan. Did you get any of that storm last night?
20 October 2005, on 9:47 am
This is only about Christian Bashing
I would disagree. This particular article on GifS is bashing Xians because they choose to hinder science. So far, I’ve only done one post regarding Xians; a retort to silliness on another blog. My other posts have dealt with Creationism, a view held by many religions.
*I don’t remember Marcus. Your Rockstar drinks a little too much methinks. It was raining all day yesterday & this morning though. Maybe Wilma’s coming through?
20 October 2005, on 11:55 am
“This is only about Christian Bashing, You are useing your dirty words to the point that every thing that is said becomes meaningless. ”
Translation: “Reading big words make my head hurt. Atheists are mean!”
Someone give her a coloring book and put her in the corner.
20 October 2005, on 4:27 pm
Sean, I would like thank you for useing the word Christians, rather than Xians. I am not trying to hold back science, we need it, But the things that are done in todays world takes a lot of money. I don’t think things are always in our best interest as a whole. Makeing money has got into our medicines too. We have a lot more people sick now…why?
Pleace don’t prejudge me, you don’t know who I am. I have not done that with you.
But you ( thesuckersite ) know that it is disrespectful to talk about Christians and their God in the way that you do, tells me that you don’t want to help me think in the way you do, you just want to insult a group of people. (hows that for a run on sentence, and I am not even going to use spell check, not because I want to look like a fool, but because I don’t think you have eyes to see)
20 October 2005, on 4:38 pm
I am sorry, but I am not prejudging you. I am post-judging you, based on your statements. And blah diddy blah. I am so sick of Xians claiming that they are being discriminated against or that people are being prejudiced toward them when they make fun of their idiotic beliefs. Pot, meet kettle. You hardly come from an innocent, oppressed minority. Xians have been killing people in the name of their god (Inquisition, Crusades, etc.) for several thousand years… And have held power over much of the earth. You deserve to be criticized if you buy into something with that legacy of hate. You believe in a god who told a man to slay his own son to prove his faith, for crying out loud. Do you ever think about how sick that shit is?
The sad thing is, you have some critical thinking faculties, but obviously have not yet really even begun to hone them. You seem to have little, if any, idea what we are talking about 90% of the time. You bore me now. I’m not going to engage with you anymore. Ta-ta.
20 October 2005, on 4:46 pm
Cluckin’ Chicken,
“Makeing money has got into our medicines too. We have a lot more people sick now…why?”
Because of profit? Don’t be foolish. Thank your jebus that there is money in medicine- if there wasn’t, no one would want to develop them.
“hows that for a run on sentence…”
Your “run on sentence” is actually a comma splice.
“Sean, I would like thank you for useing the word Christians, rather than Xians.”
Jeez, Sean, what are ya doing!
20 October 2005, on 4:47 pm
Not to mention my big beef – I’m going to hell (according to Xians); the epitome of horror for a human soul no matter what. That’s a superiority complex in itself.
20 October 2005, on 5:39 pm
sable chicken -
have you ever thought that people are interested in science and advancing their knowledge of science purely because they want to know more about how the universe works, and not for monetary gain? and that’s what most scientists do. they don’t research something simply because it will bring them money; most discoveries in science are not accurate and result in no monetary gain. yet these people continue to do it because they want to find the truth and help advance the knowledge of the world. without science, you wouldn’t be here trying to share your beliefs with others instead of trying to understand that there is not a necessity for a gawd because science has the answers. or will have. it’s only a matter of time…but it’s obvious that you came here to argue, because if you actually wanted to delve into a world explained by science and escape the wrath of religion, you would have gone to an informational website, rather than a blog. therefore, your time will only be wasted. but continue with your arguments – they’re funny.
On a sidenote: I really take offense that you believe the pharmaceutical development companies are only in it for money. I’m going into that field because I want to help people, as most others in the field feel. Don’t jump to conclusions because you see them making enormous amounts of money and more people getting sick. They make enormous amounts of money because many people are sick. Many people are sick due to mutations in viral strains that allow them to spread and be resistant to previous drugs. New drugs must be made to combat these strains. Also, AIDS/HIV is a huge problem, as well as cancer, mostly because times have changed and people are a bit more liberal than before. These “illnesses” are becoming treatable, but new technology always costs more because it is new and methods of production and such have not been refined to the extent that the treatments can be administered at a reasonable cost. If you want your ass saved in 30 years because you’ve developed lung cancer due to pollution, I’d stop bitching.
yet another note: I believe I’ve heard that the US is around #13 in techological development. that is sad, folks.
20 October 2005, on 11:17 pm
OK you guys PEACE. I have been trying to be respectful to you, please try and do the same for me. My husband is a paramedic, I have a neice going in to medicine. I am proud of them.
I do have a problem with GMO’s in our food. I have a problem with the way medicines are marketed. Diet drugs, purple pills…etc 5 years go on and there are law suits against there makers, because people have become sicker or died from taking these things. Whats up with that? I still think that it’s good, but not ALL good.
Just yesturday, Starbuck slipped me a Diet drink, instead of a regular. What is this artificial sweetener, I am not allergic to any thing, (that I know of) I start to feel sick and my tongue feels thick, after just two sips. My paramedic husband says this is some of the first signs of an allergic reaction. There are things that are being done to our food, or added to it that are not healthy.
Why did God ask Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac? Sean, This story has been hard for me to understand too.
Isaac was a son that God promised to give him. Abraham had no children and he and his wife were old, Yes it was God testing Abraham’s faith. (I know that this sounds like God was really messing with Abrahams head, but God’s plan, is his plan not mans. We can say ‘I would do it differantly if I was God’ but we are not) God and Abraham had a very close friendship. God was showing Abraham, that God himself was willing to sacrifice his only Son, for us. There is alot more to this story, but I don’t want to push it on you.
Back to the God4sucker, I like to talk to people that think differently than I do, but I am not so foolish that I can’t see that you want Christians to come to your Blog to poke fun at them. I know just what I am stepping in to when I comment hear. The subject from all these differant writers could be very interesting, but it is just sick, if this is just to bash Christians. Sean I can see you are a smart person, but all this just becomes ugly, and it reflects on you. Just like all the evil things done in the name of religion reflects on me. Can we change that?
21 October 2005, on 1:55 am
Crystal,
You have got to be kidding me. If pharmaceutical companies aren’t out to make a profit, then why are they making it so difficult for someone like me to afford their medications?
Give me a break. Pharmaceutical companies are no better than the car salesman that slings name-brand metal.
And yes, I realize that this thread had gotten off topic.
21 October 2005, on 7:57 am
Of course they are out to make a profit, Dena. That has already been pointed out in this thread. Thank your god that medicine makes money in our capitalist economy, otherwise there would be no one providing these medicines at all. Got a problem with that? Yeah, maybe so do I.
[Although I also know people, like Crystal, who got into that industry primarily to help people, and it is wrong to attack them outright.]
Your issue is systemic with capitalism itself. Work to see the bigger picture if you are gonna rant on this stuff.
Willing to put your money where your mouth is, so to speak, and do something about it? Bitching about science itself is not the solution. Become an activist for the Socialist Worker’s Party. Give up your religion for an actual social cause. Go try and turn our government into a more socialist government like in Western Europe. My cousin lived in Paris for years and can tell you the American Right’s hysterical take on Western European socialism is unfounded. Total horseshit, in fact. She says the system, for the most part, works quite well. And her child enjoyed years of excellent, free day care when she was a baby. Try claiming that here.
Now at least that would have some meaning behind it. Just don’t sit around and benefit from science while railing against it, because that is hypocrisy.
21 October 2005, on 8:07 am
PS: You guys talk about getting beaten up by us while you are here? Crystal just told you why she is passionate about her life’s chosen work, to help people — and you glossed right over it and continued your rant about how her industry is evil. After she told you with truth and compassion about why she chose the field she chose.
How about “Thank you, Crystal, for saving my life with your medicine when I am 70 years old and diagnosed with %$#@^&.” What are you doing to contribute concretely to society like Crystal intends to? Name it. Tell us. Bring it up. What’s that thing about glass houses and stones? Now who is being abusive? Dena, maybe you owe Crystal an apology for sitting here and dissing her life’s work? Stop me if I am wrong.
21 October 2005, on 8:44 am
it’s obvious that you came here to argue, because if you actually wanted to delve into a world explained by science and escape the wrath of religion, you would have gone to an informational website, rather than a blog.
We try to do real journalism, but our damned desire to make the world a better place keeps interfering!
you want Christians to come to your Blog to poke fun at them.
sable chicken, I’ve tried to be nice. But that is one of the most ASSININE things I have ever heard. YOU typed in the URL. YOU hit the “go” button. If you don’t want to be here, fine. GO AWAY. No one invited you.
This is an open forum, and dissenting opinions are not only welcome but encouraged. But try to stay away from silly statements like that. It makes you sound foolish, even more so than your proselytizing.

Cluckin’ Chicken,
I’m sure that some people will suffer some adverse reactions to GMO food and from artificial sweeteners, but the fact remains that those things will save more people than they will harm.
21 October 2005, on 3:25 pm
Marcus how can GMO’s save more people than it can harm. If the pesticide is built into the the fruit? There have been studies with GMO corn and nonGMO corn and squrrels. Given a choice they would not eat the GMO corn. Than they took away the nonGMO corn to see of they would eat that if they did not have a choice…The squrrels would not eat GMOcorn and they left. This is important, squrrels are to dumb to stay out of the streets and will get hit by cars, but will not eat GMO corn. I don’t want to feed this kind of corn to my animals or my family. Don’t gloss over this.
I would like to believe that people like Crystal, are trying to make things better for people.
I find that you are saying that Dena is not supportive of Crystals chosen profession is just a diversion. If there are apologys to be made on this site, they are other places to start than with Dena. How dare you call her angry if she uses the word FUCK, when there are people here that their typing and most likely the way they talk at home is also like an open cesspool.
As far as artificial sweetener and Diet drinks, even Weight Watcher’s says don’t drink them. I know of a man that lost 20 pounds, by not changing a thing in his diet, eccept replaceing Diet drinks with water.
When it comes to making a stand for something, that you feel is worth making a stand for, there is NO reason what so ever to give up ones faith in God.

Cluckin’ Chicken,
Since you obviously didn’t understand my earlier post about pejoration- I will pejorate this post as best I can. Those of you who are afraid may turn away now:
Ah, yes, the mother-fucking infamous squirrel experiment- the “animals refuse Bt-corn” experiments are actually anecdotes from the likes of asshat retired farmers. These “experiments” were collected in the book Seeds of Deceptio” by that cock-sucking bitch-hole, Jeff M. Smith, MA in business administration. I would slap a bitch before I hardly call him an authority or a goddamn scientist. I never glossed over your fucking point; I dismissed it for herpe oozing ignorance. If you can’t understand how a GMO crop, resistant to jebus H. cripes pests and other environmental damage, can save growing fat-ass populations, you don’t understand how agriculture works.
Weight Watchers is a sham- if you’ve joined it, then you’ve spent your fucking money to learn a process that is COMMON KNOWLEDGE: eat less and exercise more, tubby bitch, DUH. Sure, artificial sweetners aren’t great for you, but holy virgin mary on a vibrator, they are a fuck ton better that sugar.
Avoid heresay science, get a grasp on linguistics, and drop your hair-trigger “offensive meter”. You’ll suffer lower blood-pressure for it. Bitch ass mo-fo.

Hahahahahaha!
A diversion??? The original post in this thread was about stupid fucks keeping this country in the dark ages on issues like stem cell research and cloning. And you’re fucking talking about squirrels and corn? You have never once addressed the original subject or any of my questions in regards to it. This is what Xians do. They change the subject when their teeny brains don’t have a self-righteous answer.
And I don’t believe in your fucking god, and my family talks this fucking way all the fucking time because fucking words like “fuck” are harmless compared with… Oh… denying people the right to marry those they love because of what some primitive desert nomad said thousands of years ago?
Your religion is the cesspool… A cesspool of hate.
21 October 2005, on 4:54 pm
…and I was feeling bad about some of my postings. Thanks Sean I feel better now. Goddam Xians get away with too much because they are accepted as being right and good. Fuck that… and fuck the cesspool that is ALL religion. I’m there …I’m done …fuck them… Thanks Sean!
21 October 2005, on 7:20 pm
Sorry, but I just am so frustrated by people who argue with you by totally changing the subject. It drives me insane, and I get this from religious types all the time.
Luckily, where I live, I have a large group of irreligious, rational, logical friends who I can turn to and have intelligent debates with. That’s how I stay sane.
Didn’t mean to go off, but I would imagine that debating with you in person would be even more insanely infuriating.
22 October 2005, on 6:31 pm
just so everyone knows, I really could give a fuck less what dena or sable chicken thinks. i just thought they should know that there are people out there that want to help them…ahahahaha…i’m so mushy. but my major point was that i wanted them to see that atheists aren’t immoral people. i would give up almost everything to do research in pharmaceuticals to help just one person. i could be the next jesus, no?
so i get off-topic too, but it was to prove a point. so sorry.
but honestly, people don’t understand the costs of technology (my minor point of the previous argument). i’m sorry that you have to pay a lot of money for necessary medicine, but that little pill/liquid/etc. is the result of costly processing and years of struggle by researchers. it’s not easily obtained, so thank your fuckin gawd that you have people willing to waste years, money, and all of their sanity trying to make you happy and healthy.
in addition, i’ve been drinking diet pop for the past 7 years (at least 4-5 cans per day) and have yet to be adversely affected. fun fact.
ummm, and as for GMO food, it’s really helping you in the end. See, here’s the process: people eat food. farmers produce food. farmers get paid for giving you food. if farmers don’t have a good crop, farmers don’t get paid and food prices rise because of a shortage. people have to pay extra money for a necessity (food). your money goes down the tube. GMO food is produced so farmers don’t have bad crops and you don’t have to spend a lot of money for food. but you’re eating a pesticide. if you really care, go make your own food. everyone just needs to understand that if they want our economy to continue, some modifications are necessary. if you don’t agree, vote. or move out of the US. but just remember that you all have it really fucking good in this country. seriously. quit bitching about what you have, because the rest of the world doesn’t have a third of what we all do.
oh yeah, sean, wonderful. cesspool. definitely. and arguing with christians is difficult for that exact reason. but it’s because they have nothing better to argue with. so it’s really a win either way you look at it. they’re just too proud to say they’re defeated. isn’t pride a sin? it’s one of the seven deadliest…go repent, you sinner christians!
22 October 2005, on 10:15 pm
The original post, has not educated any one on how wonderful stem-cell research is. The original post is just a big whine, about how you think Christians are holding you back from doing all the things that you really want to do. Yet I do vote, and if you think that it would be good for me to see things in the way that you see them, you would have wrote the post in a way that had some strong points that gave us something other that ‘I blame xians for everything’
On the way to work the traffic was bad, xians fault
Our prisons are full, xians fault
Pollution is making my eyes burn, xians fault
I want a race car, but I cant afford it, xians fault
I stubbed my big toe no the coffee table in the dark, xians fault
I got a parking ticket, xians fault
Whao is me, @#$%^*#&^ xians
23 October 2005, on 1:43 am
Sean said: And you can blame it squarely on the Xians. Fuck ‘em one and all for fucking up a perfectly good capitalist democracy.
My response: Key words here are: Fuck ‘em one and all for fucking up a perfectly good capitalist democracy.
Are you serious Sean? Is this what we have become? Nothing more than a bunch of money hungry heathens?
23 October 2005, on 9:03 am
Tell ya what, Dena darlin’… You get Pat Robertson to stop stealing from the sick and the old, and I will call my friend at Genentech and tell him to stop trying to extend your lifespan.
Where is your outrage — true outrage — toward these sick bastards who have hijacked your own religion? That’s where your passion belongs. IMHO.
23 October 2005, on 9:16 am
PS: I go back to this question, which, typically, was never addressed:
How about “Thank you, Crystal, for saving my life with your medicine when I am 70 years old and diagnosed with %$#@^&.” What are you doing to contribute concretely to society like Crystal intends to? Name it. Tell us. Bring it up. What’s that thing about glass houses and stones?
It was ignored. So I ask it again. Don’t pull a fuckin’ Ann Coulter. Answer the question.
How did you save humanity today? Concretely. Beyond useless prayer. Let us count the ways.
Bring it on.
23 October 2005, on 10:07 pm
I most definitely do not want to be an Ann Coulter. ::shudders::
I don’t mean to answer your question with another question Sean, but when you asked what am I doing to contribute to society like Crystal does: Do you mean, am I in a profession that is giving to people and helping them in a positive light?
I don’t know.
Working in the service industry for over 10 years has not only been lucrative for me, but it has also been filled with wonderful opportunities for me to give of my passion for people. It may seem like a simple no-brain routine; taking drink and dinner orders from hungry people day in and day out. But in all actuality I love what I do because not only am I good at my profession; I am sincerely concerned about every single body that sits down in my section.
I see hundreds of people a week. I look them all directly in the eye. I smile. Sincerely. I give them respect and courtesy. I ask them about their lives. I take an interest in them. I remember them when they return. I build rapport with people that I may only get a glimpse of for a half an hour. I treat them as though they are a guest in my own home.
I do not treat people this way because I have to. I do it because it feels good; and I like to make people feel good. Even if it is for just moments.
Although trying to save humanity is a very noble goal to strive for; I feel it is quite the duty to place upon one’s shoulders. I would like to consider myself someone who, does their best to exude a positive energy to others. In turn, I hope that in these moments of kindess and sincerity, those that I encounter will display this type of behavior to others they meet.
So I would have to say that I do not set out to save humanity. I just try to make surviving a little easier for all of us.
As far as prayer being useless, I do not feel it is such. Prayer is only useless if you are just saying words and then just hoping it will work out in the manner you prayed for. If there are no actions behind your words, well then it just doesn’t matter.
There are some instances though, when prayer can only suffice with words. For example, when my mom was diagnosed with breast-cancer, there wasn’t much that I could do rather than pray for her health and healing, in hopes that her illness wouldn’t spread. All I could do was be there for her. To give her support while she was going through all of her surgeries and such. Whatever her outcome was to be, was what it was to be. Prayer or not.
Prayer to me, is no different than thinking postively about someone or something.
Anyhow, I hope this somewhat answers your questions.
P.S. I have no qualms with stem-cell research.
24 October 2005, on 8:58 am
Sorry, but I just am so frustrated by people who argue with you by totally changing the subject.
Sean – in my dealings w/ Da Bleeevers (another word for your lingo post:)) this is all they have. The credulous can’t back their points up. Remember, theists have to stop thinking critically at one point. They have to bleeve in magic.
There have been studies with GMO corn and nonGMO corn and squrrels. Given a choice they would not eat the GMO corn. Than they took away the nonGMO corn to see of they would eat that if they did not have a choice…The squrrels would not eat GMOcorn and they left.
Thanks for making my point sable chicken. Care to back that claim up with evidence?
I find that you are saying that Dena is not supportive of Crystals chosen profession is just a diversion.
Strawman. No one ever said that.
The original post is just a big whine, about how you think Christians are holding you back from doing all the things that you really want to do.
Strawman. No one ever said that. Since you are logic impaired, here’s the thesis for the article: Xian fundies hold back science because a blob of cells COULD have been life. You refute that? Back it up or go away.
On the way to work the traffic was bad, xians fault
You really read about what a strawman fallacy is.
24 October 2005, on 9:17 am
*really need to read…*
shit.
BTW, sable chicken, you still need to answer my question: Can you name another group which has lobbied against stem cell research, WITH EVIDENCE? If so, we can dislike that group as well.
24 October 2005, on 1:11 pm
Thank you, Dena. Again proving why you are our favorite Christian. You have the right approach to life regardless of what you believe. First, do no harm.
24 October 2005, on 1:13 pm
And PS: Didn’t mean to sound angry. Just too many people like Rush Limbaugh screaming hate in the world. Gets us secular humanists upset sometimes.
