O-Boy, there’s nothing like the feeling of my wasted tax dollars in the morning. Especially when they’re wasted on things that directly conflict with logic! MMMmmm.

I’m going to open up 2 head starts. One for worshipping the Spaghetti Monster, one for worshipping aliens.
I’ll go out on a limb here and say only the Xian groups will be approved, though…

*LOL* totally.
In a weird way, it’s helped me to understand conservatives a bit. The outrage I feel must be what they feel when they bitch and whine about their tax dollars going to abortion clinics.

Jesus is real and He is coming back to judge the living and the dead. Read about Him in the world’s best selling, most printed, most quoted, most historically accurate, most hated, most loved, and most misunderstood book of all time, God’s love letter to mankind, The Bible! Don’t beleive what you hear! Read it for yourself! Your eternity depends on it!
Yours in Christ,
tim

Hey, Tim, you want fries with that salvation?
24 September 2005, on 9:10 am
Oh, and Tim, it’s spelled “believe.” As a Believer, you might wanna concentrate on getting this one right. Repeat after me: “‘i’ before ‘e’, except after ‘c.’”
24 September 2005, on 9:32 am
Tim, I’m sure you’re one of those random xian websurfers who thinks to himself “Oooo! An atheist site! I can get some witnessin’ time in! I look forward to never seeing you again. I get enough of it, living in the bile belt (yes, “bile”, not “bible”).
26 September 2005, on 8:20 am
…most historically accurate…
This asshole suggests I have not read his book? I think he needs to re-read God’s handbook here.
Timmo, I did read your book. It’s assinine; filled with contradictions and hate.
26 September 2005, on 8:21 am
Wow, forgot to close that tag…

“Hey, Tim, you want fries with that salvation? ”
Oh I am *SO* stealing this one.
29 September 2005, on 3:54 am
Wow! Thanks for the honest feedback! I am not the world’s greatest speller, I admit that! To answer some of your comments: No, I don’t want fries with that salvation! Jesus will fulfill my every need. God Himself will wipe away my every tear. That’s awesome! , Yeah, I can see how Darwin’s theories can really cloud one’s judgement. You can choose to have faith in his so called science if you wish. (like you need permission) But the truth is, when asked why he supported Darwin’s ‘Origin of Species’ Julian Huxley replied— ‘Because the idea of an all powerful God interferes with our sexual mores’ Hmmmm. I would have surely thought that he would have cited all the hard core facts, or the diligent research, or the blindingly evident evidence! But no, just the idea of a God holding him accountable was enough for him to grab onto any theory other than the truth!
Rockstar, I checked out the version of the Bible you linked up in your post. I agree, there are somethings that modern science cannot explain. However, if you read a book and someone is sitting there telling you the meaning of it, can you really judge for yourself the message? I would suggest reading the New King James version of the Bible or the New American Standard version. Both are great and accurate versions of the original texts. Check them out!
Here are some more points that we could ‘discuss’.
The founding fathers of our country were mostly Christians! (you probably wouldn’t hear a teacher saying that in a classroom today!)
The Bible is the only historically accurate Holy book! (just ask the Smithsonian Institute!)
Anyway, I would encourage you guys/girls to take a chance! Open your mind and look past your stubborn hearts and read the Bible objectively. Believe me, I was just as bad if not far worse than most of you who are reading this! And, in some ways, I still am. I HATED people for quoting the Bible. There were people that I would avoid or even mock because they would tell me the Truth. It was really painful. So I know where you are coming from. . . Jesus said, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” A bold statement indeed! No wonder they crucified Him! He was interfereing? with their religion! How dare He say that! What it means is this: Have a relationship with Jesus Christ or face the judgement seat of God! I am glad that I won’t have to answer to the Father for every little thing I have done! Every curse, every adulterous thought, every lie will be accounted for! And then, punishment. The eternal kind.
I’ve rambled enough! I will be praying for you guys!
Yours in Christ,
tim

Tim,
You exude so much ignorance, that I, for the first moments, believe your post to be a joke.
First of all, the founding fathers of our country were not mostly x-ians- any OBJECTIVE history book not written for K-12 will tell you that. If anything, the most famous of them were anti-xians.
Second, the Smithsonian calls the bible historically accurate in the same way the Domesday Book is accurate- for names, geography, simple events, etc. It does, however, usually require collaborative texts- Herod killing the children in Bethlehem is not even supported by Josephus who was Herod’s biographer; therefore, the bible individually accurate.
The bible, in every way, shares an analogous relationship to every other religious text and oral story on this planet. It is not unique. It is a collection of Judeo-Christian MYTHOLOGIES. The Apocrypha is enough proof that mythologies tend to change with time. Religion is a social delusional psychosis.
And, of course, your statement that “I HATED people for quoting the bible”, etc… is easily dismissed as an attempt to make us feel guilty for the same. Besides, I don’t hate xians for quoting the bible, I feel pity them their ignorance.
29 September 2005, on 10:16 am
Whoops!
“the bible *is not* individually accurate”
Sorry!

But the truth is, when asked why he supported Darwin’s ‘Origin of Species’ Julian Huxley replied— ‘Because the idea of an all powerful God interferes with our sexual mores’…
More intellectual dishonesty here. What a fucking strawman…
Why not just say “when asked why he supported Darwin’s ‘Origin of Species’, Hulk Hogan replied- ‘Whatcha gonna do, BROTHER!’…
Seriously, because one person said something stupid regarding Darwin’s book, it means evolution didn’t occur!? Jesus Mohammed L. Ron Hubbard Christ…(I like to be blasphemous to multiple religions)

Julian Huxley replied— ‘Because the idea of an all powerful God interferes with our sexual mores’.
I’ve heard this quote before. One said it was on Public TV. Another said it was on the Dick Cavett Show. Could’ve been both, but can you source this for me please?
Thanks

Actually, this is likely a complete myth (in addition to being, as RR pointed out, irrelevant even if true). Check out
